Corra are a Scottish wedding band based in Edinburgh, performing at weddings, ceilidhs, parties and celebrations across Scotland and beyond. For almost 25 years, we’ve been bringing people together on dance floors with our Celtic–contemporary fusion — the perfect musical blend to keep all ages entertained all night. We deliver exceptional live performances while giving full respect to the songs we play and all with a huge emphasis on having a great deal of fun.

Inspired by the Latin word cor, meaning heart, the name Corra reflects what we aim to bring to every performance: music with heart and soul, rooted in heritage and delivered with passion.”

Our Story

Corra began with a few friends, a van full of gear and one wedding. No business plan — just a group of friends who love watching a room come alive while playing some of the greatest songs ever written — what’s not to love!! Almost 25 years later, we have grown into a much bigger & strong core team of full-time musicians, performing at over 200 weddings per year. Performing up to two events on one night our extended team means no drop in quality when a band member has to take a night off. Our approach also is still the same — solid musicianship, attention to detail and a genuine respect for the songs we play and the people we play with.

The Musical Blend

Most evenings are a ceilidh and covers mix (around 30/70), but we can lean into more traditional reels or go full party set depending on your crowd and the feel of the night. Love ceilidh? We’ll keep the reels going for as long as you like. Want just a couple of dances for guests from overseas? No problem — our experienced callers will guide them through it. Prefer no ceilidh? Also fine — we can go full live party band with a set full of bangers.

Whatever the balance, our goal is always the same: a full dance floor and a brilliant atmosphere. Expect high energy with spontaneous dance-offs and group limbos all part of the Corra experience. Be warned however — our ceilidh is not for the faint-hearted. It’s high impact which is why we weave it in and out to keep the flow of music to make for the perfect blend on the night. We also read the room — not the set list, shaping the night as it happens. That keeps it exciting for us and more even more entertaining for you and your guests.

The Band

Corra perfrom as a six-piece live wedding band (plus sound engineer) with strong vocals, rich three-part harmonies, dynamic fiddle and string lines, lead guitar, piano and a solid rhythm section. Both male and female lead vocals feature in every line-up, and brass can be added for an even bigger sound when space and budget allow. Our super tight connections also means super tight musicianship and we pride ourselves in this. We also have smaller band formations for those smaller venues and for a tighter budget. Playing as part of your ceremony and/or reception is a great way to add a whole new musical element to the day. We have lots of options for your to choose from depending on your vision for the day.

Where We Play

Based in Edinburgh, we perform across the city and regularly travel throughout Scotland — the Lothians, Glasgow, Perthshire, Stirling, the Borders and the Highlands and islands. We also perform at destination weddings across Scotland and are available for international bookings where couples want to take a touch of Scotland abroad.
